On paper (and many days for real) Lisa’s career was a dream come true. She got to live and work all over the world and managed a team of amazing people who were doing some very cool stuff. Corporate life was ugly though and she’d been promoted out of any interesting work and into a life of conference calls and politics where she had to fudge her ethics just to protect her clients and her team. It took a horrible toll on her health. In 2001 Lisa started cutting gems as a hobby and loved the feeling of creating something again.
So at age 45 Lisa made her escape and packaged out of the corporate career and into what was supposed to be a little hobby business that let them travel. Somehow it turned into a proper business that lets her create beautiful things and that embody her ethical values. Lisa has been a professional gem cutter for 16 years now and never looked back
