Queer Kinky Punk Zine Workshop w/ Ley David Elliette Cray, PhD
Queer Kinky Punk Zine Workshop w/ Ley David Elliette Cray, PhD
Zines—typically short-form, often hand-made publications created and distributed through characteristically DIY means—can be powerful tools for both education and expression. And, let’s be honest: they’re also just cool. Looking over the long and varied history and culture of zine-making, the overlap with queer history and culture becomes quite clear—but what about the overlap of zines and kink? In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore these intersections, looking at the history, culture, and counter-economy of zines in relation to queerness, kink, and BDSM. We’ll even get a little hands-on practice in making our own queer kinky punk zines.
This workshop is open to any subscriber of either Midori or Ley’s Patreons.
No experience necessary! Whether you’re a kink educator wanting to learn how to create new materials for your classes, a dungeon owner looking to create and distribute your own informational resources, an erotic creative exploring a new expressive medium, or just a queer kinky punk zine nerd wanting to do some queer kinky punk zine nerd things, this is a workshop for you.
Optional items: You might want to have – paper, scissors, stuff to write and draw wit
