Kayla Tange is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, video, and performance. Drawing on experiences of Korean adoption, erotic labor, and chronic illness, their work examines autonomy, power, and survival within institutional systems. Using legal and medical records, adoption files, surgical imaging, and deconstructed costumes as living archives, she blurs the boundaries between body and record, artifact and memory. Nightlife aesthetics and her performance persona Coco Ono run throughout, destabilizing authorship and complicating the line between persona and self. Her work is shown across galleries, performance venues, film festivals, and underground spaces.
