John Pendal is an autistic kink mentor and life coach specializing in self acceptance and happiness. In particular, he works with newly diagnosed divergent people, working out what it all means for them as an individual. He also coaches folks on getting their kink on more authentically and passionately.

There’s a lot of overlap between kink and autistism.

John’s personal journey of self discovery has been complicated, challenging and enlightening, as he evolves in his selfhood. He has identified as ‘straight and Christian’, ‘gay’, ‘kinky’ and at 45 realised he is autistic. Along with being an escape artist, kink educator, he has also become the only British winner of the International Mr Leather contest in Chicago and had a ten year career as a stand-up comedian which has taken him around the world.

So how does a nice ’straight and Christan” boy become a big ol’ leatherman and helper of the ’not-quite fitting in’?
