[ITHACA] “On Our Backs” exhibit at Handwerker Gallery

Midori’s installation, InVocation, will be featured in a new exhibit at the Handwerker Gallery at Ithaca College.

InVocation is a 20+’ (7 meter) tall woven sculpture that literally weaves together the memory objects contributed by current and past s*x workers – totemic objects of individual histories made into a monument of labor and memory. Pix of the piece from past shows included w so so many dear friends❤️

This piece was originally commissioned by Alexis and Leslie Lohman Museum of Art. Afterwatrds, it showed at the “Sex Worker Popup” show by Open Society Foundations to coincide with the United Nations Conference on the Staus of Women, and Root Division for “Introductions 2020.”
