Midori shares a spectacular personal story at Bawdy – be gentle, it’s her first time!

When a mysterious older man begins to ask after her in her small suburban town, nerdy straight-A exchange student (and Jane Austin reader) Midori sees an opportunity to escape the overeager teenage boys at her high school, a chance to engage in the fine art of courtship – but just who’s wooing who? She savors long talks over tea with suave dresser Donald at the only espresso-serving cafe in town – conversations about Poetry, Opera, Jazz, Travel, and Mozart – and soon, she crafts her plan. With the help of her 2 best girlfriends, a pair of hand-sewn fishnet stockings, and a trip to Planned Parenthood, the night of her sexual rite of adulthood is finally here… um, why do they call it ‘Virginity’ anyway? #Graduation

About Bawdy Storytelling

For almost 13 years now, Bawdy has featured true stories of sex, kink, body image, gender and more to build community, educate, entertain, and bring people together. We do regular live storytelling events in multiple cities, but there are plenty of ways to get Bawdy: Our Podcast and YouTube channel are fantastic ways to get your Bawdy fix, wherever you are.

Storytelling is about building a connection… So is Sex.

Our live events feature an eclectic mix of authors, poets, comedians, and actors – along with real people just like you – sharing their (true) adventures in around ten minutes or less. Storytellers submit their material online for this curated show, and each month’s performers are chosen for their panache and sense of (mis)adventure.

Sexual folklorist Dixie De La Tour curates submitted stories, then works with experienced and first-time storytellers to create a one-of-a-kind evening for each and every Bawdy. Her coaching superpowers tease out surprisingly powerful stories of sex, kink or gender. Then at showtime, Dixie coaches the audience, too – creating an emotionally supportive, unintimidating, and sex-positive atmosphere that’s unique, engaging and fun. Add connecting games (like the ever-popular Bang-O) and you have a show that’ll be your new favorite social event EVER.
