1. A QUICK HELLO

Dear Readers,
It's been an intensely busy spring tour season for me. I know that I've been remissin writing to all of you about my adventures in a newsletter form but I hope someof you have enjoyed reading some of it in my LiveJournal blog.

Right now I'm on a plane back to San Francisco from a teaching trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Ottawa. Tomorrow I leave for an over night trip to Palm Springs for "Desire", a women's leather retreat. Then on Sunday I begin my annual volunteer week for AIDS LifeCycle as The Ride makes way down from San Francisco to LA. I won't have a computer during that time so if you e mail me you'll have to wait until the week of June 12th for me to reply to you.

It's been a remarkable two weeks here. I visited and toured the city with my mother, who happened to be here to present at the University of Vienna. I'd not seen her for a decade so that was just lovely. She's eccentric as ever!

For those of you who've been long awaiting "Master Han's Daughter", I have good news for you. I've finally finished the collection of my science fiction shorts and it's being launched at Gaylaxicon in Toronto the middle of this month. It's a hard-edged and very sexually explicit cyber punk tale of a near-future Tokyo. If you liked "Aya's Blade" on my old erotic story CD, you're already familiar with one of the characters in the book.

I'll confess to being a bit tired and a bit anxious about the upcoming week. The AIDS Lifecycle can be quite emotionally intense. Send me good wishes. (See below for details on this trip.) I also want to thank all the people who have sponsored me in this cause of mine, to fight the suffering of HIV/AIDS, including the good people of Dallas and beyond who came together for an awesome, fun fundraiser event. It's just amazing what great things happen when people care. Together, all of you as my team members, we've raised over $5,600!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Midori

2. AUDIO REPORTING FOR THE NEXT WEEK ON AIDS LIFECYCLE:
As I mentioned above, my AIDS/Lifecycle 7 day adventure officially starts this Sunday. (I'm not counting orientation and prep day before. Just the days I'll be away.)

During which time I won't have any Internet access. But I do want to report on the progress of this amazing event. So I'll use my Live Journal (LJ) blog to record and upload my voice messages. I should be able to make two short audio posts per day. The ALC administration has asked me to part of their blogging team as well, so I'll also post different entries there. (I don't' know the details for the latter but as soon as I find out I'll put it in my LJ blog.) Even if you don't have an account with LJ you can listen to the audio posts or read the written transcripts of it. Just go to my LJ page at fd_midori livejournal

I am looking forward to your support, not just for me but also for all the riders, roadies and the HIV + folks that depend on this for much needed funding of care. I hope you'll post your responses on my LJ too.

And of course visit my ALC page.

(Here's another URL, a place where you can directly send me and other participants messages and we'll get to read them as printouts at the campsites at the end of the day. ALC Support Messages)

This also means that I won't be posting on my various lists nor am I able to answer e-mails. If you need to get in touch with me there's my office phone of 415 282 6555. I'll check messages regularly. If you're in the know about my other numbers, you can try me there. It depends on the reception on the road.

Please understand that I'll be on the road for 7 days and will be spending the nights in a tent at the ALC encampment along the way....
